“Sun's magnetic field has flipped upside-down”

Magnetic reversal of the Sun
NASA has announced that the long-awaited reversal of the sun's magnetic poles has finally taken place.
The reversal, which takes place every 11 years, is part of the sun's natural cycle and is not believed to pose any risk to the Earth. The magnetic fields will now begin their next cycle which will culminate in another reversal at the end of the 22 year long process.
"A reversal of the sun's magnetic field is, literally, a big event," said Dr. Tony Phillips. "The domain of the sun's magnetic influence (also known as the 'heliosphere') extends billions of kilometers beyond Pluto. Changes to the field's polarity ripple all the way out to the Voyager probes, on the doorstep of interstellar space."

The Solar System shows a specific balancing system, where the Sun contains the largest part of the hiydrogen, and on the outside are gaseous planets. Between are metallic type of planets.
Fractal Universe
As might be expected of generators, the magnetic field strengths of the planets is determined mostly by their size; less so by their speed of spin.
Thus those of Mercury and Pluto are weak through small size, and Venus through very slow reverse spin.
Plate tectonic activity of the inner rocky planets appears to be another product of electromagnetic performance. The signs on Mars are not as well defined on Earth, such that professionals consider it to be no longer functioning. More likely is that its smaller size limits the action.
Opinion differs as to whether Mercury shows faint signs; not surprising in view of its miniscule size and resultant, tiny, magnetic field.
Venus, with its low field and reverse spin, predictably shows no evidence of continental drift as with the gas planets, of course. Nonetheless any rocky cores may be expected to follow the rule of size and electrical generation.
